Because Boys Need Heros: "Green Lantern"
I grew up in a family with three girls and one boy and the atmosphere was weighted toward the feminine: my sisters and I played with Madame Alexander dolls, hosted singing "concerts" in our basement, wore Lanz of Salzburg nightgowns and, when we girls were teenagers, experimented with dozens of brands of shampoo.
Now, I'm raising two sons. The experience is filling out my understanding of childhood. Consider this.

Haha, yes we boys need to read stuff like that. I loved Ironman when I was a boy. Heck, I still do. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to make a conscience effort to ensure my sons have "heroes". Their main one is their father..thanks for this post..
ReplyDeleteMy grandson likes Iron Man, Dr Who, Indiana Jones and Power Rangers - he made his own power pack tonight out of a box and some tubes! He likes Mr Bean too though. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy boys used to make guns and swords out of Lego ,and spent hours acting out stories with a large box of action figures.
