Mary, Jesus Expert

In my day, if I wanted to increase my tennis prowess, I would watch Chris Evert Lloyd’s moves on the court. When my mother cut my hair in the iconic ‘Dorothy Hamill’ pixie, my whole world revolved around the dream of being an Olympic skater. I watched her every skating competition, eager to pick up even the tiniest trick to hone my skills. For the record, my moves were ample for the make-believe Pond Capades but never truly worthy of the hairdo.

Here is a sampling of what I have to learn from Jesus Expert, Mary ...  SEE them here

And then, there is Love

In my life-long journey with God, I v grown from,
innocent faith (inheriting it from mom and grand dad as a child)
to
teenage liberal-Christianity (when I figured out my own convenient brand of Christianity-meets-new age-secular  theology)
to
reaching a point where my new-age-theology failed me miserably
to
seeking to know Him
to
busying myself with activities for His kingdom
to
a genuine realization that actually I didn't know the person of God
And then,
there is love:)

What a friend I have in Jesus

Catholic artist Michael O'Brien
There were times when I was deep down in a pit. When I believed the lies my enemies told me about myself.

When I truly believed I was worthless. When I genuinely agreed I was a loser. When I felt unloved and therefore angry with everyone. These times have come and gone at various points in my life. But this time, it was different.

The “Yes” God wants from us by Nancy HC Ward

What God wants is for us to say “yes” to him and “no” to everything else. Of the millions of good things available to us, he wants us to have the best. That’s because he loves us so much. He loved us, even while we were yet sinners.

Every one of us doubts that we are loved. After all, each one of us knows who “we” are. It surprises us when someone loves us completely and thoroughly. But the Lord is after us to believe it. He wants us to know that he loves us inside and out.

We can begin by saying “yes” to believing that we are worthy of God’s love. We can say “yes” to believing deep within our being, that God, our Creator and Savior, loves us. We belong to him. He loves and cherishes us. He wants to protect us with his gift of faith and trust in him. Before we can serve him and love him fully we must first say “yes”’ to letting him love us.

How does he convince us that he loves us? That’s up to us. He’ll do whatever it takes to convince us, but not against our free will. When we can believe it, then we can try it on. Act like he loves us by loving others the same way he love us. By sharing his love we prove to ourselves and to them how much he loves us.

Love Notes from God

When I asked which Bible verse makes people feel most loved, the answers were surprising. Very few verses mentioned love at all. Many people were deeply affected by descriptions of Jesus' agony, suffering, and death on the Cross to save us. Others were amazed by all God had promised to give to us and how close he had to be, how far he had to stoop, to give us these gifts. But everyone had a different favorite. It made me realize how intensely each line of the Bible speaks to us. God's strength and love shine through his Word with the power to pierce every human heart.
