To ALL Writers: Introduce Yourselves

My name is Melanie Jean Juneau and I have been the administrator of this site since the summer. I invite ALL WRITERS, even if you are veterans, to introduce yourselves and your blogs, then leave a link. If you are comfortable, a picture of you or a snapshot of your blog would help us connect with you. With the help of Cristina T, a new writer here, I just organized my blog and added a static home page. With my mush brain, I needed a bit of guidance but I really like it now. I am starting to think how to organize archives for ACWB next! Come see my new home page on joy of nine9

Melanie Jean Juneau is a wife, writer and mother of nine kids who blogs at joyofnine9.The very existence of a joyful mother of nine children seems to confound people. Her writing is humorous and heart warming; thoughtful and thought provoking with a strong current of spirituality running through it. Part of her call and her witness is to write the truth about children, family, marriage and the sacredness of life, especially a life lived in God. Melanie is a columnist weekly at CatholicMom, monthly at Catholic Lane, bimonthly at Catholic Stand and Catholic Attachment Parenting Corner.

  1. My name is Cristina and I blog over at http://fillingmyprayercloset.com I am a married mother two two boys (and am a stepmother to three wonderful teenaged and young adult children) I work full time outside of the home and am a convert to the Catholic faith. I write about my love of the faith - but am mostly prompted by my calling to evangelize. I do this through writing, as a team member on my parish's RCIA team and cantoring at mass. I am also a Lay Dominican postulant. It's my sincere and faith filled hope that God continues to bring me closer to Him through the people I meet, the wonderful man that I married and ALL of God's children.

Thanks Melanie, for inviting me and being such an inspiration for me (I can remember secretly looking at your pins in the wee hours and mumbling to myself, Oh I like this - of course, it's Melanie's!!)

    God Bless!!

    3. No! I've been in Pinterest a while (well before I started blogging). I think that's what gave me a little leg up in readership actually. My pin count was above 2k when I started pinning.

  3. My name is Laura Pearl and I blog at "String of Pearls" (http://www.mumsie2five.blogspot.com). I am 55 and married to my high school sweetheart, with whom I've raised five grown sons (who are now between the ages of 21 and 30). I am also a doting grandmother to three little girls--and hopefully there will be more grandchildren before too long, now that two more of my boys have gotten married!

I started blogging in March of 2011. In December of that same year, I completed a four-and-a-half year writing project: my first novel, a pro-chastity, pro-life, pro-family, coming-of-age love story called Finding Grace. Published in August of 2012 by Bezalel Books, it has earned the Catholic Writers Guild Seal of Approval and was also a finalist for the Guild's Catholic Arts & Letters Award (CALA). Aimed at teens and young adults, Finding Grace is also categorized as Women's Inspirational Christian Fiction. Most of the feedback I've received for the novel has been from adult readers--both male and female--and it has been very positive. I hope to touch many souls with this book, especially young readers who are bombarded with so many dangerous messages in our modern world via every form of media.

I was inspired to write a book because I believe that fiction can be a great evangelization tool. And I was inspired to start blogging for much the same reason: to use the power of the Internet for good, to help to spread the beauty of the Catholic Faith to the best of my ability.

I blog mostly about my family, but also about Faith, art, books, travel, and many other topics that interest me. I don't have a huge readership, but my blog has made it possible for me to get to know the most wonderful people--some of whom I consider to be friends, even though I may never meet them in real life.

I would love to be a part of the Association of Catholic Women Bloggers--thanks for the invitation!

  6. I am a Sister of Notre Dame who blogs every Wednesday on Catholic Faith Corner at www.kathleenglavich.org. I've written more than seventy books, but last year for the first time I wrote a novel, a "historical romance" called The Fisherman's Wife: The Gospel According to St. Peter's Spouse. A woman I don't know liked the book so much that she put up a website for it at www.Facebook.com/St.PetersWife (no apostrophe in Peters!) I'm glad I discovered this website for bloggers. It's great that so many are promoting/supporting our faith this way.
