The Priestly Blessing

I was reading today's first reading from the Book of Numbers, Chapter 6 (Verse 22+) and thought the Priestly Blessing from this Old Testament book was a wonderful prayer for the start of the new year:

The Lord bless you and keep you!

The Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!

The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace!

(This is the prayer that Moses was told by the Lord to give to Aaron and his sons to bless the Israelites.)

May this divine blessing carry you throughout the new year.  Receive it in hope.
