Is God Calling You?

    This is the time of year that many parishes begin their sessions for people who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, often with an eye towards becoming Catholic. It can be a big step for someone to call their local church and ask about how to join, but I would like to alleviate some of the fear that comes from that natural curiosity. If you have questions about the faith, God or even the church in general, or the Catholic Church in particular, that desire to learn more is actually a prompting from God.   God has put in each of our hearts an innate desire to seek him, whether we pay attention to it or not, that is the reality. So, when you make the call, you are actually responding to God.   So often we think we are taking the first step, but that is not the case at all.   The beauty of this movement of the Holy Spirit in your life is that it is such a tangible example of the presence of God.
