  4. How did you keep your children in the Faith?
Mine dropped away for some of the reasons given by these Irish young people:

  5. My father is from Dublin & Fr Sean is..I expect we have always prayed together since they were in the womb & they were all blessed in-utero. We pray often as a family..even a decade..one Hail Mary each. We pray before meals, in the car..anywhere. we pray for examinations, health problems etc. the example of their father praying & attending Mass often & devotions is very important so that it's not seen as "women's" work. They all seem to have a very lively, vibrant & deep faith. I will have a think & see if their are any other reasons I can think of...

  6. Thank you. I think I can see that it is a family life style that has kept their faith fresh and meaningful and good schools of course. It is still quite remarkable. They are blessed.

  8. Rudolph Steiner in his educational works wrote that expecting a child to move abruptly from early childhood fairy stories to stark reality even in childrens literature is a sure way to destroy the reading habit.
With this in mind my daughter moved to the lighter fantasy novels and, as her friends dropped away from the library and bought comics, she eagerly awaited the next visit to C.S. Lewis etc.
She has retained her love of books (and ended up at Cambridge!)
    Thank you for your experience.
    This is for Alison please.
