I Pledge

Today I have had it!  (Original Posting on Spiritual Lives Of Women) 

   My Beloved Twitter-verse has always had those of a political mind set, but today the negativity, the lack of faith; not only in the goodness of man, but in the Greatest of God, just left me heart sick.

I felt as if God was whispering in my ear: "Time to do it, time to do it." But do what? Then it hit me! I asked some of my twitter-pals if they would like to start making the society we would like to see on Twitter, and well also our little corners of the world; they said yes. Of course it all made sense, God's calling me to action my own "Get up, Jesus is calling you.” Mark 10:49 moment.

I am making the pledge today:

Lord, I pledge to start to help bring your Kindom to earth by being more positive, living more lovingly, treating all with respect, and most of all...being more positive in all I say and do. I pledge to release from my life all those who are negative. I pledge to read, listen, see only those things that edify, encourage and uplift. As a mother I have accepted my Baptismal roles of Priest = Nurturer, Queen = Guide and Prophet = Teacher. This I will do prayerfully and with your Divine Guidance. Amen!
By being more positive - Living Love I call it - we bring to the world a greater sense of connection and create a world where love rules over hate.  It does not have to be anything too huge, time consuming or costly.  It can be quite simple and fit into YOUR lifestyle.  We could take each day and do something specific like:

Monday: Work toward a righteous cause
Tuesday: Be gentle and patient toward everyone, including yourself.
Wednesday: Renew the world around you, your relationships with God and others.
Thursday: Connect with yourself, your world, your God: reach out to someone you have not seen in while, care for a garden, pray.
Friday: Tell your sacred story, help others tell theirs, share your wisdom in a significantly positive way.
Saturday: Connect with your calling
Sunday: Reconnect the spirit and the mind: go to Mass, spend the rest of the day resting and reading a good book, listening to good music

    Can you change the picture so it's not the USA flag! Us loyal subjects of Queen Elizabeth don't pledge allegiance to flags and there are at least 2 other nationalities on here too! Other than that this reminds me of the earlier post about the instructions on how to become a Saint one of us had pinned to the fridge door, an excellent reminder that we must try each day to follow Him more nearly, day by day.

    I really like your list. I think tonight after supper, I'll sit down with the children (and my husband) and make up our own list fo the upcoming week. Thank you for the wonderful idea.

The Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary

This is the image most often associated with the writings of the Belgian mystic Berthe Petit. She promoted devotion to the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. During my preparation for the retreat I am giving at the end of the month in Pantasaph, North Wales, I began reading a book by the late John Haffert (once the lay leader of the Blue Army of Fatima). His theory in the book, which speaks of God's "last effort" to convert the world before the coming chastisement, is that we are now living in the third or fourth "day" of the Fatima week. At this time, according to Haffert, we should be promoting devotion to The Immaculate Heart of Mary. I also consulted another book by Dr. Courtnay Bartholomew (whom I have been privileged to meet) which also speaks of the importance of this devotion, linking it with the writings and visions of the mystic Berthe Petit, and the importance of the full title of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Why Modesty Is Not Subjective

Hi there, ya'll!  The modest fashion world is one very diverse place.  Even among Catholics, the definition of "modest apparel" can vary greatly from person to person.  Recently I joined a Facebook group that advertised itself as a haven for Catholic women of all ages to share ideas for modest style and makeup and was hoping to learn more about modesty from my fellow Catholic sisters.  After a few days of being a member, though, I sadly left the group feeling a bit discouraged.  No two members seemed to agree on ANY aspect of modesty whatsoever, and the prevailing theme of the whole group was that modesty is subjective, it means something different for each woman and each woman gets to decide what she considers is "modest".  One woman very emphatically declared that she wears bikinis every summer to the beach and doesn't feel that this violates the virtue of modesty in the least.  The same woman also announced that she was never going to caution her d
