Get Back to Where We Once Belonged

Somewhere along the line, it seems America lost sight of the whole way…
the “whole-food” way, that is!
Over the years, as a more “have-it-your-way” approach became a part of our everyday way of eating, our food & nutrition began moving further and further away from nature.  And our faith in isolated nutrient supplements grew strong...
But is this a wise approach for us?  Is this the way it’s meant to be?
Well, of course, it’s not.
Plus research even shows that some supplements may deliver no benefits, or may actually come with risks, as well.  But why?  Why are there so many cracks in the foundation of a diet that’s built on weak foods, still fortified by high-dose supplements?

Could it be that we’re missing the whole point?
In seeking the riches of individual (and separated) nutrients, we begin to lose the treasure that’s meant to be there.   The full benefits of nutrients really come as a result of a communal relationship that’s built on interaction and cooperation.  Yes, even for foods & their nutrients!  It’s something known as synergy, which is much more complex than we’ll ever grasp.  After all, it’s a system that not only involves vitamins and minerals, plus amino acids and fatty acids (& more), but thousands of “phytochemicals”, too, with hundreds of them known to be bioactive (that scientists only recently identified!)--which are yet to be (if ever) understood.  And the beauty of it all is that each one of these compounds—no matter how major (and maybe famous) or minor (and possibly unknown), all have “gifts” that contribute to a bigger & better cause.
And, as they work together, their combined whole effect actually becomes greater than the sum of their effect if separate.
Therefore, it can be said, our nutrients need each other to be all that they can be!
AMAZING
And speaking of synergy, look how Saint Paul applied it to us
and the use of our gifts, whether big or small [within 1 Corinthians, chapter 12]:
